Mechanical Test Technician (Aerospace)

Location: Noordwijk, Netherlands; onsite at the ESA/ESTEC Test Centre

What you will do

• Plan, prepare, coordinate, and execute laboratory and test-centre campaigns.
• Assess testing feasibility, define test configurations, and select suitable equipment, instrumentation, and hardware.
• Configure and install test equipment and act as Test Engineer during execution, ensuring technical, operational, and safety compliance.
• Support thermal vacuum, high-speed recording, infrared imaging, measurement, and other environmental test activities.
• Analyse and interpret measurement results and prepare technical reports, presentations, recommendations, and test documentation.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance, calibration, logistics, inventory records, and asset data in Infor EAM.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Physics, Aerospace, or a related technical field.
• At least four years of experience in laboratory testing, calibration, maintenance, or technical operations.
• Experience in controlled laboratory and clean-room environments; knowledge of contamination control and ISO 14644 is an asset.
• Knowledge of calibration, metrology, measurement principles, laboratory instrumentation, and test equipment.
• Ability to analyse and document test and calibration results, coordinate internal and external stakeholders, and manage multiple activities.
• Fluent English is required, and candidates must be eligible to work in the EU and meet applicable security and export-control requirements.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with ISO 14644 clean-room standards and contamination-control procedures.
• Experience with equipment databases or asset-management systems such as Infor EAM.
