AI & Engineering Talent Lead (AI/ML)

Location: Remote or onsite in California, United States; up to 20% travel or more as needed

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 per year, plus competitive total rewards

What you will do

• Own full-cycle hiring for AI researchers, ML engineers, software engineers, and other technical roles.
• Build sourcing channels through referrals, conferences, hackathons, technical communities, open-source ecosystems, and direct relationships.
• Prototype internal recruiting tools, candidate trackers, outreach workflows, and evaluation pipelines using AI coding tools.
• Evaluate candidates by reviewing their code and projects and assessing technical difficulty and excellence.
• Partner with senior engineering leadership on hiring priorities, calibration, offer strategy, and closing competitive candidates.
• Develop candidate positioning and maintain high-precision recruiting data to improve selection over time.

Requirements

• Experience recruiting or referring exceptional technical talent from frontier AI labs, top-tier startups, or elite engineering organizations.
• Demonstrated success closing technical candidates competing with frontier AI companies, FAANG, and well-funded startups.
• Familiarity with the AI/ML ecosystem and how elite engineers evaluate opportunities.
• Technical fluency sufficient to read code, assess project difficulty, and engage senior ML researchers and staff engineers.
• Experience building side projects, internal tools, automations, or prototypes and comfort with AI coding tools and vibe coding.
• Strong written and verbal communication, ownership, judgment, bias for action, and comfort with ambiguity.
