TL;DR

Location: Hybrid in Vancouver, Canada (Office presence required Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday)

Salary: $146,000 - $183,000 CAD annually

What you will do

  • Serve as the primary legal advisor to HR and senior leadership on employment relations in Canada and the US.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts and settlement agreements.
  • Develop and implement enterprise-wide employment policies and regional employee handbooks.
  • Manage employment-related litigation, mediation, and arbitration, overseeing outside counsel as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with evolving employment laws and regulations in North America.
  • Lead the legal strategy for scaling employment frameworks during international expansion.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor or Canadian LL.B./J.D. equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience in employment law and corporate matters within private practice or in-house.
  • Experience in employment litigation (e.g., wrongful dismissal, human rights complaints) is required.
  • Must be based in Vancouver, Canada for the hybrid office schedule.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence C-suite stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of UK, Dutch, or Israeli employment law.
  • Experience with equity compensation and employee benefit plans, including stock option laws.
