Location: Hybrid (Vancouver, BC) - must be in the office three days a week

What you will do

• Lead and support privacy-by-design reviews for new products, features, and data uses.
• Conduct and manage Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Legitimate Interests Assessments (LIAs).
• Partner with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to identify and mitigate privacy risks early in development.
• Translate complex global regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA) into practical, product-focused guidance.
• Build scalable processes, templates, and playbooks to ensure consistent privacy governance.
• Support data incident response processes, including breach assessments and regulatory notifications.

Requirements

• Background in privacy, law, public policy, or a related field.
• Experience conducting PIAs, DPIAs, LIAs, or product privacy reviews.
• Strong understanding of digital product architecture, including data flows, APIs, SDKs, and AI/ML use cases.
• Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for technical teams.
• Must be based in Vancouver, BC to support a hybrid work schedule.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Google Workspace.
• Interest and experience in applying AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini) to automate documentation and improve workflows.
