What you will do
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of firmware engineers.
- Own firmware project execution, including goal setting, timeline management, and delivery across concurrent efforts.
- Guide technical decision-making through architecture discussions and design reviews for resource-constrained systems.
- Partner cross-functionally with electrical, software, and QA/RA teams to align on requirements and development processes.
- Oversee firmware development and documentation in compliance with IEC 62304 and ISO 13485 standards.
- Improve team effectiveness by addressing bottlenecks in workflows, tooling, and CI/CD infrastructure.
Requirements
- Must be based in the US.
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience managing firmware or embedded software engineers.
- 3+ years of hands-on firmware development experience in resource-constrained, bare-metal systems.
- Experience working in a regulated industry, with medical device experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in C for embedded systems.
- Familiarity with regulated development standards such as IEC 62304 and ISO 13485.
Nice to have
- Experience with connected or IoT battery-powered devices.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity requirements for embedded or medical devices.
- Experience with CI/CD, test infrastructure, or coding standards like MISRA.
