What you will do
- Own firmware features for implantable neurostimulator systems.
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and proprietary communication protocols.
- Develop and optimize embedded firmware, including debugging and performance improvements.
- Contribute to firmware requirements, architecture, traceability, scope management, software hazard analysis, and design documentation.
- Create test designs, test scripts, and formal technical reports to support verification activities.
- Execute unit/integration/regression testing, perform failure analysis, analyze test data, and recommend design or process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a technical field with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a technical field with at least 0 years of relevant experience.
- Onsite role at Fridley/Rice Creek East, MN (work onsite 4 days a week).
- U.S. work authorization required at time of hire and for the duration of employment (sponsorship is offered exclusively for Principal-level roles and above).
- For consideration, demonstrate embedded software experience aligned with the roleβs responsibilities (including firmware and verification activities).
Nice to have
- 3+ years developing embedded software using C and C++.
- Experience with embedded systems design, low-level firmware development, device drivers, peripherals, and communication protocols.
- Experience developing software for medical devices or other regulated products and understanding applicable software development processes and quality standards.
- Experience authoring software requirements and translating them into verification strategies, test designs, and test cases.
- Familiarity with regulated software development environments and industry standards for medical device software.
