Data Center Facilities Engineer II

Location: Onsite in Katy, Texas, United States. Monday–Friday schedule with participation in a rotating weekly on-call schedule and after-hours support for a 24/7 facility.

What you will do

• Operate, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot mission-critical mechanical and electrical systems.
• Support electrical distribution gear, ATS, generators, fuel systems, UPS units, PDUs, batteries, chillers, pumps, CRACs, AHUs, BAS, fire systems, and leak detection systems.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance, equipment rounds, operational readings, and load tracking.
• Conduct root cause analysis and provide technical guidance during facility events and real-time problem management.
• Record maintenance activities, readings, engineering logs, drawings, single-lines, and compliance documentation in the CMMS and related systems.
• Coordinate with vendors, support projects and new designs, and identify and remediate facility safety hazards.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience in a critical infrastructure facility such as a data center, nuclear facility, semiconductor facility, or pharmaceutical facility.
• Experience with standby diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, AHUs, CRACs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, power monitoring, motors, variable frequency drives, and BAS.
• Ability to work onsite in a 24/7 environment, participate in on-call rotation, and provide after-hours support.
• Ability to work safely with required PPE and follow applicable safety procedures.
• Technical, military, or trade-school training, an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in an applicable engineering field, or mechanical/electrical trade qualifications.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• DC II, DC III, stationary engineering, building engineering, electrical or mechanical journeyman, or CFC license.
• OSHA-10 or OSHA-30, NFPA 70E, First Aid/CPR, or Basic Life Support certification.
