What you will do

• Sustain the design, fabrication, and performance characterization of opto-mechanical modules and precision mechanisms.
• Address obsolescence for legacy systems currently in high-volume manufacturing (HVM).
• Create innovative designs for ultra-high vacuum systems, vibration isolation, and electronic packaging.
• Conduct FEA modeling, thermal analysis, CFD, and modal analysis to ensure system reliability.
• Manage the end-to-end process from requirements specification and prototyping to manufacturing handoff.
• Build and maintain technical relationships with vendors for component fabrication and qualification.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, Master's with 3+ years, or a Doctorate degree.
• Proficiency in 3D solid modeling CAD, with ProE/Creo preferred.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and error budgeting.
• Familiarity with mechanical manufacturing processes including machining, welding, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Must be based in or able to work from Milpitas, CA.
