What you will do

• Develop and execute global IP strategy including copyrights, trademarks, patents, and brand protection.
• Support the Platform Project Office and technology startups with IP structuring, scaling, and commercialization.
• Draft and negotiate complex SaaS, licensing, technology transfer, and open-source software agreements.
• Lead the group's global privacy and data protection compliance program (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA).
• Advise on AI governance and emerging technology regulations, including the EU AI Act and Data Act.
• Conduct IP due diligence for strategic partnerships, investments, and acquisitions.

Requirements

• Solicitor qualification in England and Wales or an equivalent European jurisdiction.
• 8–12 years PQE in IP, technology, and data protection law.
• Strong experience advising software, SaaS, or digital product businesses.
• Solid knowledge of UK and EU IP law and GDPR frameworks.
• English: C1+ required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI, cloud computing, or platform businesses.
• Familiarity with EU AI Act, Data Act, Digital Services Act, and NIS2 Directive.
• Experience acting as or supporting a Data Protection Officer (DPO).
• Experience supporting technology startups or venture initiatives.
