Engineering Manager (Fintech)

Location: Must be based in or be able to relocate to McLean, VA. This is an on-site role (Monday-Friday).

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 4–8 full-stack engineers through effective 1:1s and career development.
• Stay hands-on by writing production code, conducting code reviews, and making architectural decisions.
• Own end-to-end delivery, including project scoping, milestone setting, and removing blockers.
• Partner with product and design teams to translate business goals into actionable engineering roadmaps.
• Drive engineering excellence by improving CI/CD pipelines, observability, and testing standards.
• Champion an AI-first approach by integrating AI tooling into daily workflows to multiply velocity.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience.
• 1–2 years of experience leading a team.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar technologies.
• Experience working with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Track record of building and operating reliable, secure production systems at scale.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to McLean, VA for on-site work.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, wealth management, or regulated financial services.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
