Engineering Manager (Cloud Platform)

Location: Must be based in or able to work from San Francisco (Hybrid)

Salary: $165,000 – $330,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Recruit, hire, and mentor a high-performing team of cloud platform engineers.
• Drive technical decisions through design and code reviews, ensuring architectural standards.
• Establish best practices for reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to align infrastructure roadmaps with business goals.
• Serve as the escalation point for major incidents and drive systematic resolution.
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Proven experience directly managing engineers in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or SRE.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
• Strong background in building and maintaining scalable production infrastructure.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to drive projects end-to-end from specification to production.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence across teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
• Background in multi-cloud environments or GPU infrastructure.
• Experience managing on-call rotations and incident response processes.
