TL;DR

Location: Remote (Must be based in the US and have legal right to work there)

Salary: $130,000 - $160,000 USD

What you will do

  • Manage and develop 2-3 software teams (12-20 engineers), including full-time staff and contractors.
  • Drive the adoption of AI tools and implement more effective engineering workflows.
  • Balance platform investment and technical debt against delivery pressures.
  • Act as a sounding board for tech leads to challenge over-engineering and refine technical approaches.
  • Partner with Product Owners to ensure delivery is realistic and well-prioritized.
  • Handle recruiting, retention, and performance management to build high-performing teams.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing software engineers, including senior-level talent and contractors.
  • Experience in regulated, security-conscious environments (e.g., payments, financial services).
  • Technical depth sufficient to credibly challenge architecture and engineering decisions.
  • Strong track record of leading teams through change and influence.
  • Must be based in the United States.
  • Experience managing remote and globally distributed teams.
