What you will do

• Review power plant technical documentation and prepare unit-specific test plans.
• Conduct power system simulation studies aligned with NERC and other reliability standards.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports communicating methodologies, analysis, and findings.
• Perform peer reviews of technical reports to ensure quality and compliance.
• Travel to industrial and power generation sites globally to perform onsite generator model validation testing.
• Develop technical proposals, including scope, cost estimates, and project schedules.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems preferred) or Bachelor’s with relevant experience.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC) or eligible for registration.
• At least 5 years of work experience in power system transient stability studies or protection and control.
• Strong knowledge of generator and renewable modeling, power system protections, and control systems.
• Demonstrated experience with simulation software such as PSCAD, DSATools, PSS/E, PSLF, ASPEN, or ETAP.
• Must hold a valid class 5 BC driver’s license or equivalent and be eligible to work and travel in the US.
