What you will do
- Perform vehicle design analysis covering aerodynamics, propulsion, and power system performance.
- Develop low- and high-fidelity analytical models for vehicle subsystems and flight behaviors.
- Generate aerodynamic databases and analyze flight performance data.
- Plan and execute experiments, including wind tunnel testing and flight test validation.
- Collaborate with controls, mechanical, production, and software engineering teams to resolve design challenges.
Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in a degree program in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, flight physics, or aeronautical engineering.
- Must be available for full-time, in-person work in South San Francisco or Dallas from September to December 2026.
- Strong understanding of technical fundamentals in aerodynamics and flight physics.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with CFD tools such as STAR-CCM+, Fluent, OpenFOAM, or PowerFLOW.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or Rust.
- Experience with CAD surfacing tools like CATIA or NX.
- Background in wind tunnel test planning and data analysis.
