Principal Quantum Engineer

What you will do

• Design and construct scientific hardware and software control interfaces for a quantum computing platform.
• Work across neutral-atom quantum computing, atomic physics, and coherent control of quantum systems.
• Generate intellectual property related to neutral-atom quantum computer design and operation.
• Distill and communicate technical findings through internal discussions, publications, and presentations.
• Lead high-impact technical projects in collaboration with experimental physicists, hardware engineers, and software engineers.

Requirements

• PhD in physics, chemistry, engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of industry experience designing and operating quantum computing hardware, including explicit technical leadership experience.
• Extensive knowledge of current techniques in atomic physics and quantum computing research.
• Deep understanding of the fundamental interactions between light and matter.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across experimental physics, hardware, and software teams.
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python.
• Experience with Git software version control.
