Quantum Error Correction Software Engineer

Location: Hillsboro, Oregon, United States; hybrid work model with time split between the assigned Intel site and off-site work.

Annual salary: $149,600–$211,200 USD.

What you will do

• Design and implement software codes for quantum hardware constraints.
• Research and develop quantum error correction protocols for fully fault-tolerant quantum computing systems.
• Evaluate technology alternatives and hardware/software trade-offs for quantum error-correcting codes.
• Collaborate with quantum hardware and software engineers, algorithm and application researchers, internal teams, and external industry partners.
• Provide technical leadership, establish development best practices, and support high-quality software delivery.
• Track industry advancements and translate relevant developments into technical solutions.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least one year of quantum error correction research and development experience.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, or similar programming languages and frameworks for software tool development.
• Ability to deliver significant results in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional and industry-partner work.
