What you will do

• Design and construct scientific hardware for a neutral-atom quantum computing platform.
• Develop hardware and software control interfaces for the quantum computing system.
• Work across the full range of neutral-atom quantum computing activities.
• Generate intellectual property related to neutral-atom quantum computer design and operation.
• Distill and communicate findings through internal discussions, publications, and presentations.
• Lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Requirements

• PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive knowledge of state-of-the-art techniques in atomic physics and quantum computing research.
• Deep understanding of the fundamental interactions between light and matter.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with experimental physicists, hardware engineers, and software engineers.
• Experience with cold-atom trapping and manipulation, coherent control of quantum systems, or quantum characterization, verification, and validation techniques.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Python.
• Familiarity with Git software version control.
