Senior Quantum Engineer (Quantum Computing)

What you will do

• Design and construct scientific hardware and hardware/software control interfaces for a quantum computing platform.
• Work across the development of neutral-atom quantum computing systems.
• Generate intellectual property related to the design and operation of neutral-atom quantum computers.
• Distill and communicate technical findings through internal communication, publications, and presentations.
• Lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Requirements

• PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of industry experience designing and operating quantum computing hardware.
• Extensive knowledge of current techniques in atomic physics and quantum computing research.
• Deep understanding of fundamental interactions between light and matter.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with experimental physicists, hardware engineers, and software engineers.
• Proven ability to independently execute complex scientific and technical investigations.

Nice to have

• Experience with trapping and manipulation of cold atoms.
• Experience with coherent control of quantum systems, such as neutral atoms, trapped ions, NV centers, nuclear magnetic resonance, or superconducting qubits.
• Familiarity with quantum characterization, verification, and validation techniques.
• Familiarity with Python and Git version control.
