Director, Strategic Sourcing (Biopharmaceutical)

Location: Hybrid role based out of the Bridgewater, New Jersey office; remote work most of the time with in-person collaboration.

Salary: $177,000–$242,000 annual

What you will do

• Define and execute the enterprise strategic sourcing strategy in alignment with corporate objectives and pipeline priorities.
• Advise senior leadership and cross-functional partners on procurement, sourcing, and category management.
• Lead RFI, RFP, RFQ, competitive bidding, and complex contract negotiations across indirect and services categories.
• Build supplier performance management, onboarding, risk management, KPI, scorecard, and business review programs.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team and strengthen organizational capabilities.
• Develop spend analytics, benchmarking, dashboards, financial reporting, and compliant procurement controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, finance, life sciences, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive procurement or strategic sourcing experience, including at least 4 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in the biopharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industry.
• Expertise in indirect and services category strategy, category management, contract law, supplier risk, and procurement best practices.
• Experience with procurement platforms such as Oracle, Agiloft, or ScanMarket.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree such as an MBA.
• CPSM, CPM, or equivalent professional certification.
• Familiarity with GxP procurement requirements and CDMO/CRO contracting.
• Experience building or transforming a procurement function from the ground up.
