Director of Strategic Sourcing (Aerospace)

Location: Azusa, California, United States; full-time onsite position with domestic and international travel required

Salary: $167,000–$262,000 per year, plus a 25% bonus of base salary

What you will do

• Develop strategic sourcing plans, commodity strategies, sourcing roadmaps, governance, and scalable operating processes.
• Lead supplier identification, qualification, selection, onboarding, negotiations, performance reviews, corrective actions, and recovery strategies.
• Improve supplier capacity, quality, delivery reliability, production readiness, cost performance, and material availability.
• Manage sourcing risks including shortages, long-lead materials, dual sourcing, supplier financial stability, geopolitical exposure, regulatory risks, and business continuity.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Program Management, Finance, Procurement, Logistics, and Trade Compliance on sourcing and manufacturing decisions.
• Lead cost-reduction, supplier-productivity, working-capital, reporting, team-development, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, business, engineering, manufacturing, logistics, industrial engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier management, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
• At least 3–5 years of leadership experience managing sourcing, procurement, commodity-management, or supplier-management teams.
• Demonstrated experience with supplier strategy, complex negotiations, supplier development, supplier recovery, and cost-improvement initiatives.
• Strong analytical, financial, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Azusa, California, travel domestically and internationally, and access customer facilities, government-related programs, or export-controlled environments as required.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, aviation, defense, space, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of AS9100, FAA/EASA requirements, ITAR, export controls, or similar regulated-environment requirements.
• Experience supporting domestic and international suppliers and multi-site manufacturing operations.
• Master’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering, or a related discipline.
