TL;DR
Staff Software Architect (DevOps) (CI/CD, Kubernetes, Terraform): Architecting enterprise-scale CI/CD systems for embedded, simulation, and cloud workloads with an accent on GitOps delivery, infrastructure as code, progressive delivery, and observability. Focus on designing multi-cluster Kubernetes platforms, integrating security and compliance into pipelines, and building automated rollback and simulation workflows.
Location: Hybrid, with a minimum of three days per week in the Markham or Oshawa office, Canada
Salary: CAD 137,300–203,000 per year

What you will do
- Architect enterprise-scale CI/CD systems for embedded, simulation, and cloud workloads.
- Define branching, release, and quality-gate standards across engineering domains.
- Design GitOps-based delivery for multi-cluster Kubernetes environments.
- Lead progressive delivery strategies with automated rollback and analysis.
- Establish Terraform-based infrastructure-as-code architecture and observability standards.
- Integrate security and compliance into pipelines and artifact flows while mentoring DevOps and simulation developers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in CI/CD, DevOps, automation, or software architecture.
- Expertise in CI/CD architecture for large distributed systems.
- Deep Kubernetes knowledge, including cluster operations, and strong production-grade Terraform module design experience.
- Experience with embedded or simulation workflows such as vECUs, FMUs, or SIL.
- Cloud architecture experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus knowledge of security frameworks such as SLSA or OPA.
Nice to have
- Experience designing multi-tenant simulation platforms and optimizing costs for large-scale compute workloads.
- Understanding of automotive data flows and synchronization patterns.
- Experience with event-driven systems, serverless orchestration, model-based development, or code-generation pipelines.
