Director, Domain Enterprise Architect, Technology Modernization and Cloudification (Cloud)

Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Hybrid work is available, with employees working from the office and virtually based on business, client, and individual needs.

Salary: CAD 135,000–195,000 per year, plus an incentive program.

What you will do

• Lead AI-enabled automation projects for technology discovery, estate analysis, dependency mapping, migration planning, remediation, testing, and architecture documentation.
• Define domain architecture strategies, future-state architectures, standards, reference architectures, decision frameworks, and transition roadmaps.
• Develop migration roadmaps for on-premises containers, virtualization, servers, operating systems, databases, storage, and related infrastructure services.
• Assess technology estates to identify cloud migration opportunities, unsupported technologies, security vulnerabilities, technical debt, resilience gaps, lifecycle risks, and operational exposure.
• Define workload placement, migration sequencing, transition states, technology retirement plans, and modernization patterns including rehosting, re-platforming, refactoring, consolidation, containerization, replacement, and retirement.
• Collaborate with executives, enterprise architects, cybersecurity, cloud engineering, AI platform, application development, and engineering teams while leading architecture governance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 10 or more years of progressive architecture experience, including enterprise, domain, cloud, infrastructure, platform, or cross-technology responsibility.
• Extensive experience designing enterprise cloud architectures and leading large-scale migrations from on-premises technology estates to cloud infrastructure, managed services, and cloud-native capabilities.
• Broad experience with cloud services, Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, virtualization, servers, operating systems, databases, storage, networking, identity, security, resilience, observability, and automation.
• Strong executive communication, facilitation, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to translate regulatory, operational, financial, and technology constraints into actionable architecture direction.
• Enterprise architecture credentials such as TOGAF or IASA CITA and advanced cloud architecture certification are strongly preferred.
