What you will do

• Own a stable engineering coverage team, ensuring system health, incident response, and continuous improvement.
• Manage staffing strategy, including hiring, retention, and skills development for engineers.
• Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and support to project teams and stakeholders.
• Lead people development through coaching, performance management, and career growth conversations.
• Champion the adoption of AI-powered development tools to improve team productivity and delivery effectiveness.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, Security, and DevOps to align engineering efforts with business priorities.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in engineering management or people leadership.
• Proven track record of developing engineers and expanding team scope.
• Experience with modern frontend or backend stacks, cloud infrastructure, and scalable system design.
• Strong ability to influence through people and expertise rather than direct task ownership.
• Familiarity with AI-powered development tools and building teams that leverage them.
• Must be based in the USA to align with operational and benefits requirements.
