TL;DR

Senior Human Resources Specialist (HRBP): Providing strategic and operational HR support to university portfolios with an accent on employee relations, organizational design, and change management. Focus on driving equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives while supporting large-scale IT project implementations.

Location: Must be based in Vancouver, BC, Canada (hirify.global Vancouver Campus)

Salary: $7,283.75 - $10,474.08 CAD Monthly

What you will do

  • Advise leadership on employee and labour relations, including collective agreement interpretation and performance management.
  • Partner with managers to design organizational structures and workforce strategies that align with institutional goals.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment processes with a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Lead change management activities and process improvements for portfolio-wide initiatives.
  • Collaborate with central HR and institutional partners to support the implementation of large-scale IT projects.
  • Facilitate training, team-building, and engagement initiatives to foster a respectful and high-performing culture.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline required.
  • Minimum of four to five years of related HR work experience.
  • Experience in a complex, unionized environment required.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, collective agreements, and organizational development practices.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and indigeneity.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and provide strategic advice with discretion and tact.

Nice to have

  • Prosci certification in change management.
  • Experience with HR systems and advanced MS Office proficiency.
  • Proven ability to build productive relationships across cultural differences.
