TL;DR

Deputy Team Leader (Legal): Assisting in the management of a legal claims team and operational targets with an accent on casualty claims handling and client compliance. Focus on mentoring junior staff, ensuring quality standards, and supporting the Team Leader in performance management and service delivery.

Location: Must be based in or able to work from the Leeds office (Hybrid)

What you will do

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 150 complex EL/PL/Product/Property damage claims.
  • Allocate new claims and set appropriate strategies and reserves.
  • Conduct peer reviews and provide constructive feedback to junior team members.
  • Support the Team Leader in team motivation, performance reviews, and recruitment.
  • Ensure compliance with client-specific protocols, SLAs, and KPIs.
  • Assist in training new starters and maintaining accurate claims management records.

Requirements

  • Must be based in or able to commute to the Leeds office.
  • Sound technical knowledge of EL/PL claims processes and procedures.
  • Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and provide balanced feedback.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of client protocols and ability to adapt to changing requirements.
