Team Leader: Engine Dyno-4 (Automotive)

TL;DR

Team Leader (Engine Dyno): Leading daily operations within Engine Dyno Test Cells to ensure safe and efficient engine testing, validation, and continuous improvement with an accent on technical leadership and operational excellence. Focus on managing technicians, conducting gasoline and diesel dynamometer testing, and optimizing test procedures using PUMA, INCA, and Indicom software.

Location: Onsite in Pontiac, Michigan. No immigration sponsorship provided. Not eligible for relocation benefits.

What you will do

• Lead daily team operations, including staffing, task assignment, and workflow management.
• Conduct procedural and non-procedural gasoline and diesel engine dynamometer testing.
• Review and validate test data accuracy while collaborating with product and test engineers.
• Champion a strong safety culture and ensure strict compliance with all safety protocols.
• Apply Lean tools and structured problem-solving to drive operational excellence.
• Partner with Lab Engineering and Instrumentation teams to maintain test cell performance.

Requirements

• Associate degree in mechanical/engineering field or 5+ years of equivalent industry experience.
• 2+ years of leadership experience and 2+ years applying Lean tools (GMS).
• 3+ years of experience with engine installation, removal, and diagnostics on a dynamometer.
• Deep understanding of gasoline and/or diesel internal combustion engines.
• Proficiency with PUMA, INCA, and Indicom test bed software.
• Must have valid US work authorization (no immigration sponsorship provided).

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automotive Technology, or Leadership.
• 5+ years of experience in Engine Development or Validation Testing.
• 5+ years of expertise with PUMA, INCA, and Indicom systems.
• 5+ years of welding and fabrication experience.
