What you will do

• Support conceptual design, manufacturability, and validation for Light Vehicle Sealing product lines and new concepts.
• Act as the primary technical contact for customer engineering during program development, supporting tech days and design reviews.
• Create and maintain critical program documentation, including DFMEA, DVP&R, and design open-issues logs.
• Collaborate with Validation groups to execute test plans and develop concepts to validate unique component features.
• Interface with manufacturing facilities to ensure designs meet production requirements and can be produced consistently.
• Participate in Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) activities and monitor competitor activity.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
• 3–5 years of automotive experience with internal combustion engine sealing (e.g., cylinder head or exhaust gaskets).
• Working knowledge of gasket design fundamentals and stamped metal gasket manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T, including tolerance stack-up reviews.
• Proficiency using 3D CAD and 2D drafting for concept development.
• Experience supporting APQP deliverables (DFMEA, DVP&R) and familiarity with PPAP expectations.
