TL;DR

Motor Claims Handler (Insurance): Managing a portfolio of Fleet and Specialist motor claims from initiation to settlement with an accent on indemnity validation and liability assessment. Focus on optimizing indemnity spend, managing complex PI and credit hire claims, and ensuring strict adherence to Civil Procedure Rules.

Location: Liverpool or Sevenoaks, UK (Hybrid)

Salary: £28,747 – £38,160 plus £2,000 annual bonus potential

What you will do

  • Manage a portfolio of Fleet and Specialist motor claims from start through to settlement.
  • Validate claims for indemnity and fraud while assessing and communicating liability decisions.
  • Handle diverse Heads of Damage, including Accidental Damage, Property Damage, Credit Hire, and Third-party Personal Injury.
  • Perform accurate quantum assessments to minimize indemnity spend through commercial decision-making.
  • Maintain proactive diary management and ensure accurate reserves in line with company guidelines.
  • Assist with the coaching and mentoring of less experienced handlers.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in PI and/or credit hire claims.
  • Extensive working knowledge of the Pre-Action Protocol, Civil Procedure Rules, and hourly rate costs.
  • Experience handling Injury claims outside of the Low Value Personal Injury claims Portal.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Must have valid right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not provided.
  • Applicants on Graduate or Post-Study Work visas must have at least one year remaining.
