HSE Manager (Energy Infrastructure)

Location: Onsite at a large microgrid project in Abilene, Texas, United States. The role covers construction, commissioning, and long-term operations and requires field work, flexible schedules, exposure to extreme weather conditions, work at heights, and shifts of up to 12 hours.

What you will do

• Establish a proactive safety culture and develop project safety metrics and performance targets.
• Coordinate construction safety efforts with contractors, site managers, project management, and third-party vendors.
• Review safety plans, Job Hazard Analyses, contractor programs, inspections, audits, toolbox talks, emergency drills, and incident reports.
• Lead root cause investigations and develop corrective and preventive actions for incidents and near misses.
• Oversee safe commissioning and transition from construction to operations.
• Implement operational safety programs, train personnel, support industrial hygiene activities, and analyze safety performance data.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in HSSEQ management systems or an equivalent field.
• Experience in construction and operational safety, preferably in industrial, energy infrastructure, or data center environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910 standards.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action planning, safety reporting, and data analysis.
• Bachelor of Science in Safety, Environmental Science, or a related technical field; a valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
• Ability to wear required PPE, lift up to 50 pounds, remain on foot or seated for extended periods, and work effectively in high-stress field conditions.

Nice to have

• Certified Safety Professional or Construction Health and Safety Technician certification.
• Experience with noise monitoring, ergonomics assessments, exposure testing, and other workplace hygiene practices.
