Location: Hybrid role based in Milford, Michigan (requires reporting to the office at least 3 times per week).

What you will do

• Design and implement embedded controls algorithms for electrification propulsion systems.
• Translate physics-based requirements into robust mechatronic control and diagnostics software.
• Verify software functionality using automated test tools, benches, and vehicle-level testing.
• Contribute to common, scalable software solutions across GM-owned platforms.
• Document requirements and link them to test cases to ensure thorough verification.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Science Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in embedded controls software development.
• Proficiency in C and C++ programming.
• Knowledge of Model-Based software development processes.
• Familiarity with tools such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, MATLAB/Simulink, ETAS INCA, or Vector CANape.
• Experience with distributed version control systems like GIT or Plastic.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded controls software development.
• Experience with JIRA and the Scaled Agile Framework.
• Knowledge of AUTOSAR standards, bootloaders, and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
• Experience with software or system architecture design.
