TL;DR

Control Systems Engineer (Embedded/Mechatronics): Designing and validating electro-mechanical systems to optimize engine performance and emissions with an accent on dynamic feedback control and software architecture. Focus on implementing control algorithms in Matlab/Simulink and validating them through simulation and on-engine testing.

Location: Onsite in Mossville, IL (United States). Domestic relocation assistance is available, but visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $97,530 - $146,290

What you will do

• Collaborate with process partners to develop and refine engine control system requirements.
• Design and evaluate control features using dynamic feedback control theory, MIMO systems, and digital signal processing.
• Implement and validate control software based on modular software architecture and design principles.
• Perform verification and validation activities using Matlab/Simulink and GT-Power-based engine models.
• Analyze and visualize data using Vector CANape, Matlab, and Python.
• Deliver simulation-driven design analyses and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• Professional experience applying dynamic feedback control theory to spark-ignited engine control systems.
• Experience designing software for embedded systems hardware at prototype and production stages.
• Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink for simulation and software design.
• Must have valid US work authorization (No Visa Sponsorship available).
• Ability to work onsite five days a week in Mossville, IL.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in engineering with a focus on engine control systems.
• Advanced proficiency in MIMO systems using Sequential Loop Closure (SLC).
• Experience with CAN and SAE J1939 communication protocols for ECM integration.
• Familiarity with physics-based white box models and system identification techniques.
• Prior experience with hirify.global product development processes (NPI, NTI, and CPI).
