Legal Counsel (Fintech)

hirify.global provides a digital Securities Lending as a Service platform that enables online brokers, private banks, and wealth managers to offer securities lending to their clients.

What you will do

• Support the General Counsel in developing the legal function.
• Support negotiation of product agreements, including trading, lending, agency, and collateral agreements, with senior oversight and increasing ownership over time.
• Review and negotiate third-party contracts, including vendor agreements and NDAs, escalating complex matters when needed.
• Provide legal support across commercial matters, intellectual property, data protection, employment law, and procurement onboarding.
• Work with Sales, Strategy, Operations, and Product teams to provide commercial-minded legal advice.
• Research legal and regulatory issues to address business stakeholder queries.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with 4–6 years PQE.
• Experience in a start-up, fintech, financial-services firm, and/or private practice background.
• Experience providing general corporate advice and supporting commercial agreements.
• Working familiarity with UK laws and regulations in financial services.
• Genuine interest in technology and comfort working in an agile, digital, product-led environment.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines while maintaining quality, with strong analytical, legal drafting, and research skills, including responsible use of company AI tools.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to build internal and external relationships.
• Well-organised, methodical, diligent, and attentive to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, ask questions, and escalate when appropriate; collaborative team-working skills.

Nice to have

• Transactional exposure to financial products or collateral structures.
• Exposure to fintech, SaaS, or other technology businesses.
• IP or technology knowledge and employment law experience.
• Interest in responsible AI practices and risk mitigation, or exposure to AI vendors and infrastructure.
