Interconnection Manager

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; approximately 20% travel required.

Salary: $158,000–$198,050 per year, plus annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the WECC Interconnection team through the full development and execution lifecycle of projects.
• Manage interconnection engineers and analysts, supporting their professional development and day-to-day work.
• Analyze interconnection procedures, queue positions, distribution systems, and transmission expansion plans to support greenfield project siting.
• Lead preparation and submission of interconnection requests, including technical materials, study scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Review utility study results, negotiate interconnection and engineering agreements, and identify cost- and time-saving alternatives.
• Monitor required transmission system upgrades, coordinate schedules with construction activities, and develop mitigation solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in renewable or traditional energy development or transmission planning.
• Ability to analyze power flow and system impact studies for utility-scale solar, wind, and battery storage facilities.
• Knowledge of interconnection request packages, transmission systems, and transmission expansion plans in the US.
• Understanding of Open Access Transmission Tariffs and Generator Interconnection Procedures.
• Project management experience and the ability to lead cross-functional work.

• Experience working with a utility, RTO/ISO, or consulting firm within the WECC footprint.
