TL;DR
Grid Interconnection & Contracts Development, Advisor (Power Grid Interconnection): Managing a portfolio of interconnection requests and negotiating related agreements for transmission, sub-transmission, and distribution systems with an accent on utility studies, customer coordination, and regulatory compliance. Focus on leading feasibility, system impact, and facility studies, applying CAISO, WDAT, and CPUC Rule 21 requirements, and balancing customer, regulatory, and business needs.

Location: Pomona, California, US; hybrid work with regular reporting to an SCE facility. Employees are generally required to work and reside in California.

Salary: $143,900–$215,800 annually

What you will do

  • Manage a portfolio of standard interconnection requests across transmission and distribution systems from application through termination.
  • Serve as the primary SCE contact for interconnection customers and coordinate internal stakeholders throughout the request lifecycle.
  • Lead scope meetings and coordinate feasibility, system impact, and facility studies with Engineering.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and manage interconnection agreements, amendments, and related contracts.
  • Publish study and screening results and maintain accurate interconnection data in internal systems.
  • Apply CAISO, Wholesale Distribution Access Tariff, and CPUC Rule 21 processes while balancing customer service, regulatory, business, and cybersecurity requirements.

Requirements

  • At least seven years of experience negotiating contracts or agreements, including contracts related to the power grid.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
  • Experience managing multi-year projects in a utility environment and working with power system planning, interconnection studies, or interconnection procedures is preferred.
  • Ability to integrate work across disciplines while managing customer service, regulatory, business, and operational risks.
  • Project Management Certification is preferred.
  • Successful candidates must complete a Personnel Risk Assessment or Background Investigation and specified NERC/CIP training before receiving unescorted site access.
