What you will do

• Operate distribution resources including circuit breakers, switches, and voltage regulating equipment.
• Coordinate and direct all switching and tagging activities for LOTO isolation on mainline equipment.
• Respond to distribution disturbances to ensure a continuous electricity supply to customers.
• Perform load flow studies and use system models to simulate removing elements from service to prevent violations.
• Mentor trainee operators and review/update department Standard Operating Procedures.
• Implement real-time actions and load shedding under the direction of the transmission System Operator.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical discipline (preferred) or an Associate’s degree.
• Strong proficiency in algebra, geometry, and electrical theory.
• Authorized to work in the US (E-Verify).
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts in a 24/7 control room environment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 25 lbs.
