Legal Research Associate (German)

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid setup with office work in Berlin

Salary: €20 per hour

What you will do

• Review and coordinate NDAs, SaaS agreements, vendor contracts, lease agreements, and other commercial contracts.
• Maintain contract databases, templates, document management systems, and filing processes.
• Conduct legal and regulatory research covering transportation network services, the gig economy, insurance, open-source data, and privacy law.
• Support GDPR compliance by overseeing Data Protection Agreements with vendors and partners.
• Improve legal team efficiency through ticketing systems, KPI tracking, forms, processes, and internal systems.
• Assist with corporate governance, compliance matters, administrative work, and special projects.

Requirements

• Currently completing legal studies or a Rechtsreferendariat and eligible for an in-house legal station placement.
• Interest in or exposure to technology, data privacy, or regulatory law; familiarity with GDPR is advantageous.
• Ability to work with internal systems and databases and use data to support business decisions.
• Clear and precise written and verbal communication, including explaining complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
• Fluent German and English required.

• Additional language skills.
• Prior familiarity with GDPR and data privacy matters.
