TL;DR

Senior Systems Verification & Validation Engineer (Robotics): Ensuring robots are safe, robust, and performant through high-level test campaigns and requirement validation with an accent on the integration of hardware and software for autonomous last-mile delivery. Focus on developing novel verification strategies, executing complex vehicle tests, and streamlining data analysis for system optimization.

Location: On-site in Redwood City, CA

Compensation: $185K – $205K + Equity

What you will do

  • Lead V&V test campaigns to ensure safety, robustness, and satisfaction of market requirements for autonomous products.
  • Develop novel strategies for hardware and software verification using simulation, HIL testing, and vehicle testing.
  • Coordinate technical and logistical planning for vehicle tests across hardware, firmware, and autonomy teams.
  • Maintain traceability between system requirements, test cases, and results.
  • Troubleshoot and debug field failures to identify and correct faulty subsystems.
  • Perform statistical data analysis and develop automated extraction tools to streamline reporting.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Software, or equivalent engineering field.
  • 8+ years of experience in the design and test of complex electromechanical or robotic systems.
  • Hands-on experience building test infrastructure and debugging electromechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in test scripting and data analysis using Python and SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals and verification & validation methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering field.
  • Experience with autonomous systems, mobile robotics, or the automotive, medical, or aerospace industries.
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
