Policy Associate (Fusion Policy)

Location: Remote, flexible, must be able to work East Coast hours.

Salary: $85,000 – $106,000 (for U.S.-based candidates; international compensation based on local benchmarks).

What you will do

• Conduct research on policy frameworks, commercialization pathways, and public funding mechanisms for fusion energy.
• Draft policy briefs, reports, and blog posts to translate technical insights into clear, policy-relevant analysis.
• Support engagement with federal, state, and European policymakers and government agencies.
• Coordinate across U.S. and European advocacy teams to align priorities and execution.
• Represent the organization in external meetings, forums, and stakeholder briefings.
• Provide operational support for events, convenings, and broader Fusion Program priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3+ years of professional experience in energy, climate, technology, or public policy.
• Must be able to work East Coast hours regardless of physical location.
• Must be authorized to work in your country of residence.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Experience in energy or climate policy with exposure to legislative processes.
• Experience conducting policy research for advocacy purposes.
• Experience engaging with stakeholders across government, industry, or civil society.
