Senior Counsel

TL;DR

Senior Counsel (Legal): Provide legal guidance on payment services and digital innovation, including crypto, blockchain, NFT, and DeFi, with an accent on regulatory impact analysis across US and EU regimes and on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts for new business initiatives. Focus on advising business and technology teams to achieve objectives and develop compliant product and service offerings under fast-changing rules.

What you will do

• Advise business on legal issues and implications of business decisions, initiatives, and payment strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations affecting payment services and digital innovation (crypto, blockchain, NFT, DeFi).
• For US and EU regimes, identify, summarize, and analyze the impact of new and proposed rules on business decisions and current strategies.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other documentation for new business ideas.
• Work with business and technology teams to understand objectives and support development of compliant product and service offerings.
• Manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines while providing other legal services as needed.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the applicable Bar.
• English: Advanced/C1 or higher (for non-US candidates).
• Minimum 5 years of legal experience.
• Knowledge of corporate law and financial services regulation, including EMI/PI licensing, PSD2, AMLD/AML-CFT, and GDPR.
• Strong legal research and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in the crypto industry and/or gaming industry.
• Familiarity with payment systems and how they function.
