Legal Counsel - Central Europe (Fintech)

Legal Counsel (Central Europe): Provide day-to-day legal support across Netherlands, Germany, and Austria with an accent on commercial contracts, product compliance, corporate formalities, and disputes management. Focus on drafting and negotiating contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance for new products, handling pre-litigation matters, and de-risking business operations for market expansion.

Location: Hybrid in Berlin, Paris, or Amsterdam (primary focus on Netherlands, support for Germany and Austria)

What you will do

• Own the Netherlands legal scope as primary local contact, providing timely support to local teams.
• Support German and Austrian markets alongside Senior Legal Expert on strategic topics and business continuity.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts; ensure compliance for new local products.
• Manage local disputes, corporate formalities, and pre-litigation/litigation matters.
• Deliver pragmatic legal guidance on future developments and unblock business initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 2 years experience as generalist in-house legal counsel, ideally in tech/scale-up or corporate environment.
• Strong experience negotiating commercial contracts and handling corporate formalities.
• Professional proficiency in Dutch (min. C2) and English (min. C1); fluent German is a big plus.
• Ability to provide pragmatic legal advice in fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable with autonomy, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration.
