What you will do

• Assess information and knowledge-based needs of healthcare professionals to inform system design and optimization.
• Develop and refine clinical decision support (CDS) systems to promote evidence-based clinical practice.
• Lead the procurement, customization, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHR and order-entry systems.
• Translate clinical requirements into functional and technical specifications for health IT development teams.
• Conduct gap analyses, workflow assessments, and usability evaluations to identify system enhancement opportunities.
• Develop training and change management materials to support end-user adoption of clinical systems.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Clinical, Biomedical, Health, or Nursing Informatics.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in clinical informatics or a directly related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience implementing or optimizing EHR platforms (e.g., VistA, Cerner Millennium, Epic).
• Proficiency with terminology standards (SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10) and exchange standards (HL7 v2, FHIR, CDA).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to engage both clinical and technical audiences.
• Must be able to operate within a US government contracting environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) or other federal health agencies (CDC, CMS, DHA, HHS).
• Active security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
• AMIA certification (e.g., FAMIA) or clinical licensure (RN, MD, PharmD).
• Familiarity with VA's EHR Modernization (EHRM) program and Joint Legacy Viewer (JLV).
• Experience with Agile or SAFe methodologies in federal health IT programs.
