What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate Data Processing Agreements, privacy addenda, and customer-facing privacy terms for cloud and SaaS agreements.
• Advise commercial teams on privacy obligations regarding customer contracts, procurement, and strategic partnerships.
• Provide guidance on US privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA) and support the implementation of compliance processes like data mapping and PIAs.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to support Privacy by Design and AI governance initiatives.
• Assist with privacy and security incident assessments and support internal investigations in partnership with stakeholders.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree and active license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction.
• Must be based in California, USA.
• 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in privacy, technology, or commercial legal roles.
• Experience drafting and negotiating privacy agreements in cloud or SaaS environments.
• Working knowledge of United States privacy laws and practical compliance operations.
• Familiarity with GDPR concepts and global privacy notions in multinational environments.

Nice to have

• IAPP certification (CIPP/US, CIPM, or CIPT).
• Experience supporting AI governance or AI-related product counseling.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, data flows, and cybersecurity concepts.
• Knowledge of regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services, or FedRAMP.
