Engineering Manager (Engineering Acceleration)

Engineering Manager (Engineering Acceleration): Leading the Foundations pod to deliver world-class internal engineering tools including source control, CI, and cloud development environments with an accent on operational excellence and scalability. Focus on driving the roadmap for AI-integrated workflows, optimizing CI/CD success rates, and mentoring a team of world-class engineers.

Location: Hybrid in San Mateo, CA (onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of 6 engineers, focusing on hiring and career development.
• Own the reliability and operational health of Tier 0 infrastructure, including GitHub, Artifactory, and Sourcegraph.
• Define and drive the strategic roadmap for automation, modernization, and AI-integrated workflows.
• Champion data-driven priorities based on CI/CD success rates, PR cycle times, and engineer satisfaction.
• Develop deep cross-functional partnerships across all engineering groups to support diverse internal customers.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams with a strong IC background (BS in Computer Science or equivalent).
• Track record of owning and delivering developer-facing or infrastructure systems at scale.
• Strong working knowledge of source control and CI infrastructure (GitHub, GitHub Actions, Artifactory).
• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Hashistack (Nomad, Vault, Terraform).
• Must have United States work authorization (certain visa categories and H-1B sponsorship may not be supported).

Nice to have

• Experience scaling or migrating git, artifact systems, or CI platforms.
• Hands-on experience bringing LLM-powered tooling into engineering workflows.
• Background partnering on secure SDLC, artifact hygiene, and modern compliance practices.
