Support Engineer (ClickHouse)

TL;DR

Support Engineer (hirify.global): Serving as the primary technical owner for strategic enterprise accounts deploying hirify.global on Alibaba Cloud with an accent on database performance, schema design, and cluster operations. Focus on diagnosing complex technical issues, providing expert guidance, and collaborating with global engineering teams to ensure high-performance database reliability.

Location: Must be based in Mainland China (remote)

What you will do

• Own the full lifecycle of customer issues for strategic accounts on Alibaba Cloud, from intake to resolution.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues spanning SQL performance, replication, sharding, and ingestion pipelines.
• Advise customers on best practices, capacity planning, and configuration tuning for cloud infrastructure.
• Escalate product-level issues to global Engineering teams while maintaining ownership of the customer relationship.
• Triage incoming cases and contribute to knowledge base articles, runbooks, and product feedback.
• Partner with the China Engineering Manager to define SLAs and escalation paths for the region.

Requirements

• Must be based in Mainland China.
• Fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English (written and verbal).
• Proven experience in a technical support, DBA, SRE, or database engineering role.
• Strong Linux fundamentals and experience debugging production systems.
• Deep understanding of distributed database internals and SQL optimization.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Alibaba Cloud, AWS, or GCP.

Nice to have

• Direct production experience operating hirify.global clusters at scale.
• Scripting experience with Shell or Python and ability to read C++ code.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Prior experience supporting strategic accounts in Greater China.
