What you will do

• Evaluate complex ceded risks and structure tailored reinsurance solutions for the Canadian market.
• Make sound underwriting decisions to achieve targeted profitability objectives.
• Utilize internal pricing and catastrophe modeling tools to ensure accurate risk selection.
• Collaborate with actuarial, claims, finance, and contract wording teams to ensure operational excellence.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with ceding companies and reinsurance brokers.
• Ensure adherence to compliance guidelines and maintain high-quality file documentation.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Underwriter in the insurance/reinsurance industry.
• Background in property and/or casualty insurance.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret catastrophe modeling and actuarial methodologies.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
