Location: Must be based in Berlin, Germany (Hybrid: 3 days/week in office).

What you will do

• Serve as the primary legal contact for major commercial, contractual, and partnership matters.
• Drive innovation by automating and standardizing legal processes and templates.
• Draft and negotiate key commercial contracts with merchants, partners, and payment service providers.
• Provide strategic advice on commercial legal aspects of merchant cooperation and third-party services.
• Collaborate closely with product, risk, and commercial teams to solve complex legal challenges.
• Report directly to the CLO and contribute to the strategic growth of the legal function.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience in a leading international law firm or fast-paced in-house team.
• Fully qualified to practice law in Germany (second bar exam or equivalent).
• German and English proficiency at C1+ level is required.
• Proven experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing commercial contracts.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
• One-year fixed-term contract starting as soon as possible.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in financial services, banking, or AML.
