TL;DR

Workday Benefits and Compensation Lead: Serving as the primary functional expert for global benefits and compensation processes within Workday with an accent on system configuration, compliance, and process optimization. Focus on designing core HR processes like open enrollment and pay review, managing system upgrades, and ensuring data integrity across the global organization.

Location: Must be based in the U.S. (Fully remote or hybrid in Buffalo, NY). Requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Salary: $110,000–$125,000 Annually

What you will do

  • Lead the configuration of Workday Benefits, Compensation, and Advanced Compensation modules.
  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence and Payroll to implement system upgrades and new features.
  • Conduct rigorous system testing to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to audit standards.
  • Evaluate Workday release updates and develop deployment plans for enhancements and bug fixes.
  • Deliver training sessions, create job aids, and provide ongoing support for Workday functionality.
  • Collaborate with reporting teams to build and analyze functional data and actionable insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Workday benefits, core compensation, and advanced compensation configuration.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes, compliance requirements, and employee support best practices.
  • Must be a U.S. person to access export-controlled information.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Nice to have

  • Workday Benefits and/or Compensation certification.
  • Experience supporting HR operations in a global organization.
  • Familiarity with case management tools like Workday Help or ServiceNow.
  • Background in HR Shared Services or tiered support models.
