Java Engineer Payments and Settlement Services (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based real-time processing components for the Real-Time Payments Engine.
• Implement message-driven integrations using MQ, Kafka, and APIs.
• Work with ISO 20022 payment messages, including pacs.008, pacs.002, and camt messages.
• Own user stories end to end, from analysis and development through testing, release, and production support.
• Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and improve production systems.
• Collaborate with SREs, product owners, and global engineering teams while contributing to performance, resilience, scalability, security, and compliance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Java development experience, including Java 17 or Java 21.
• Experience with Kafka, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and familiarity with XML, XSL, and XSD.
• Experience with TDD, BDD, Scrum, and agile delivery.
• Strong analysis and communication skills, with openness to constructive feedback.
• Advanced English is required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of ISO 20022 standards.
• Project experience in financial market group treasury.
• Exposure to observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, logging, and alerting.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an IT-related field.
