Java Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design and develop Java-based real-time processing components for payment systems.
• Implement and maintain message-driven integrations using Kafka, MQ, and APIs.
• Manage ISO 20022 payment messages and ensure compliance with IT risk and security standards.
• Take end-to-end ownership of user stories from analysis and development to testing and production support.
• Participate in incident analysis, root cause investigations, and continuous system improvements.
• Collaborate with SRE and product teams in an agile Scrum environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Java development (Java 17/21).
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Must be based in Romania.
• Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, and Kafka.
• Proficiency in TDD, BDD, and CI/CD tools.
• Strong analytical skills and experience working in Scrum teams.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of ISO 20022 standards.
• Experience in financial market group treasury.
• Exposure to observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field.
