Software Engineer, Java (Asset Systems)

Location: Vienna, Austria; hybrid working model combining onsite collaboration and remote work. An additional 25 days per year may be used to work from a city or country of choice.

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable, resilient, message-driven services using Java and Micronaut.
• Build and maintain event-driven microservices with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Optimize payment modules and backend services for reliability, maintainability, performance, and scalability.
• Develop systems supporting pricing, execution, portfolios, asset infrastructure, hedging, and exposure management.
• Research and adopt modern backend technologies while collaborating with product, quantitative, risk, trading, and engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software development experience with Java as the main programming language.
• Experience with modern frameworks such as Micronaut or Spring Boot.
• Understanding of relational and non-relational databases; PostgreSQL and MongoDB experience is beneficial.
• Experience creating and maintaining publicly available REST APIs, including performance and scalability optimization.
• Practical knowledge of message-oriented middleware and event-driven microservices; Apache Kafka or ZeroMQ is preferred.
• Understanding of CI/CD; AWS, Kubernetes, or other public cloud experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Experience with AWS and Kubernetes.
• Experience integrating third-party vendors and working on new technology projects.
