Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Fully remote, based in Romania

What you will do

• Develop and deliver new product features within a Continuous Delivery environment.
• Build and maintain backend microservices, APIs, and mobile application functionality.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Engineers in Agile squads using Scrum, Kanban, and pair programming.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to code reviews and engineering improvements.

Requirements

• Commercial software engineering experience with an object-oriented or functional language such as Java, Kotlin, Clojure, Scala, C#, Python, or Go.
• Experience building backend services, APIs, or microservice architectures, with a good understanding of RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, along with Docker and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Familiarity with messaging or event-streaming technologies such as Kafka, Git, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience writing automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, participating in code reviews, and working in Agile environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, clean-code, design-pattern, and secure-coding skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, React Native, Redux, or other modern frontend and mobile development frameworks.
• Willingness to develop functional programming knowledge and learn Clojure and other technologies used across the platform.
